Services for Insurers

Identity and Access Management (IAM)

EcoHub’s Identity and Access Management (IAM) offers a secure identity management solution for insurers, providing a centralized system for managing users, organizations, and permissions. This ensures efficient user management for brokers and secure access control, making it an ideal choice for the insurance industry.

What It Offers

The Identity and Access Management (IAM) solution from EcoHub covers all key aspects of managing users, members, organisations, and service contracts. It includes the provision and management of identities, permissions, and organisational units across interconnected platforms. A multi-level administration concept enables the efficient management of user data, access information, authorisations, and organisational structures. Additionally, the service provides technical interfaces (web services) that ensure secure data exchange between EcoHub and its service providers.

Why It Is Needed

The IAM service from EcoHub is essential for ensuring security and efficiency in the collaboration between various stakeholders, such as insurers and brokers. It enables secure transmission and management of data, as well as precise assignment and control of permissions. This allows companies to reliably protect sensitive information while ensuring seamless access for authorised users.

Single Sign-On (SSO)

EcoHub’s Single Sign-On (SSO) service simplifies access to multiple platforms and portals. After a single strong authentication, users can navigate seamlessly across various portals without repeated logins. EcoHub acts as the Identity Provider (IdP), securely passing SSO for insurer portals to service providers.

What It Offers

The SSO service includes everything needed for a streamlined login experience. This includes managing login credentials via email, secure logout, and enhanced security through an OTP app (such as Microsoft or Google Authenticator). Using single sign-on for brokers and insurers, EcoHub integrates OpenID Connect (OIDC), enabling users to use the same login process for various portals and applications, such as insurer portals or marketplace apps.

Why It Is Needed

EcoHub’s SSO for brokers and insurers makes platform access more efficient and user-friendly. Instead of managing multiple logins, users can access various portals with a single authentication, reducing the complexity of the login process. By using strong authentication methods like OpenID Connect, this SSO system improves security while greatly facilitating collaboration, especially in industries with numerous partners and platforms, like the insurance sector.

Secure Data Exchange with the Standard API Framework (SAF)

EcoHub’s Standard API Framework (SAF) (formerly Data Exchange Proxy, DXP) provides reliable and secure data exchange for insurers and brokers, ensuring structured data transmission that meets market standards. This service improves workflows, enabling fast and secure communication between all involved parties.

What It Offers

The Standard API Framework (SAF) enables the secure exchange of files between brokers and insurers without processing the data. SAF offers a secure, event-driven architecture for encrypted data exchange. With this solution, brokers and insurers can exchange data asynchronously without the senders and recipients needing to be available at the same time. Data is exchanged on an event-driven basis in JSON format via Kafka or a REST proxy API, which significantly simplifies the integration. End-to-end encryption ensures that only senders and recipients have access to the content.

Why It Is Needed

The SAF service (formerly DXP service) plays a central role in promoting structured data exchange in the industry. EcoHub acts as a central intermediary between the sender and recipient. Through a single integration with the EcoHub platform, insurers and software manufacturers can reach countless other partners, which significantly reduces the investment costs for integrations.

Our data exchange services support the exchange of data based on established data standards. In the context of collaboration between brokers and insurers, these standards are defined by the IG B2B for Insurers + Brokers association. The services facilitate the secure and automated transmission of structured data, enabling the sender and recipient to take the next step in automating their processes and increasing their efficiency.

Compliance Service / Automated Verification of Insurance Brokers

EcoHub’s Compliance Service enables insurers to access register data from the official FINMA insurance intermediary register automatically. Via a standardised API, this data can be integrated directly into internal systems and business processes, enabling efficient digitalisation and continuous support for regulatory checks of brokers.

What It Offers

The Compliance Service provides structured and up-to-date register data from the FINMA insurance intermediary register via a standardized REST API. Information about brokers and brokerages can be retrieved automatically and changes in the register can be detected.

EcoHub also provides historical data and traceable change histories. This makes it possible to track register statuses at a given point in time and to document regulatory evidence in an audit-proof manner. The integration uses the established authentication mechanisms of the EcoHub platform.

Why It Is Needed

The Compliance Service simplifies verification of insurance brokers and supports insurers in efficiently complying with regulatory requirements.

Automated checks and traceable histories facilitate audits and decisions on the finalisation of offers. At the same time, insurers benefit from a stable platform and standardised integration with existing systems.

Integration

The step-by-step insurance integration process ensures a smooth transition and implementation of EcoHub’s solutions. Our team provides full support to software providers and insurers throughout every phase of the integration project, ensuring a seamless integration for insurers and brokers.
1. Initiation
After initiating the integration project, we will schedule a meeting with your project team. During this meeting, we will explain the entire insurance integration process in detail, provide all necessary information and documentation, and address any questions or concerns to ensure you are fully prepared.

2. Preparation
In this phase, your team will prepare your systems for seamless integration with EcoHub. Our team will offer guidance and support as needed to help you prepare your systems for integration.

3. Integration & Testing
Once your systems are ready, you will begin testing the integration in our dedicated test environment to ensure everything functions as expected.

4. Certification & Go Live
After successful testing, we will certify the integration in the test environment to verify that all required standards are met before going live. Once live, a portion of the certification will be repeated in the production environment to confirm your system is fully operational and secure.

5. Monitoring & Continuous Improvement
Continuously monitor your integration and optimise it as necessary.
