SAF – New service for data exchange with existing and new standards for broker-insurer core processes

With the SAF service (Standard API Frameworks), the broker insurance industry now has access to a modern infrastructure for standardised data exchange. SAF replaces the existing DXP service and forms the foundation for future-proof, flexible and efficient communication between brokers and insurers.

Decommissioning of the DXP service by the end of 2027
The existing DXP service will be discontinued by the end of 2027. All insurers, software providers and brokers operating their own software must fully migrate their integrations to SAF by that time.

To simplify the migration, EcoHub provides the new DXP-SAF Proxy service in the background. During the transition phase, this enables seamless data exchange between DXP and SAF without requiring the involved parties to coordinate their migration timelines.

The proxy is already active and can be used without additional technical measures.

Existing XML standards remain in place for now
The existing XML schemas for core processes in versions 5.2.1 and 5.4.1 remain valid until they are replaced by new versions. These include processes such as invoicing, commission handling, policy creation, claims reporting and mandate management.

These XML formats can now also be transmitted via SAF. Only the communication channel changes from DXP to SAF. The transition can therefore already be carried out gradually.

New standards for core processes available on SAF
The new standard for the quotation process NLPV (KTG, UVG and UVG-Z) is now available in version 1.0.0 and can be used via SAF.

The introduction of additional data standards for broker-insurer core processes is planned for September 2026. These include the claims information service standard (AKD) and a standard for the transmission of minimally structured data.
